Wilmington Public Library District seeks a dynamic, innovative Library Director to lead the Board and staff in using technology and traditional library service to continue to provide the district with an outstanding public library. The library serves a growing population of 9,200 with a budget of $500,000 and 8.7 FTE.

The new Library Director will lead the organization in initiating a referendum in 2010 for building expansion from 6,000 to 30,000 square feet.

Position requires an ALA/ MLS; minimum of three years library experience with progressive responsibility; minimum of two years supervisory. Salary range is $43,000-$47,500 DOQ, plus excellent benefits. The ideal candidate will be customer service oriented, skilled at community relations, experienced in fiscal management, and aware of the potential offered by technology, in a library that is indispensable in its community. Grant writing experience is a plus.
